To strengthen the Altus brand image on the African continent, we will participate in two important technology fairs in South Africa<\/b> in May. The main one will be Enlit Africa 2023<\/a>, which will take place between the 16th and 18th in Cape Town, the country's capital. Focused on discussing and presenting new solutions and technologies for the challenges of the local energy industry<\/b>, the event brings together more than 250 exhibitors from different regions and with varied product offerings.<\/p>\n

The Altus space will be located at stand 7 of the Brazil Pavilion<\/b>, organized by Abinee \u2013 Brazilian Association of the Electrical and Electronic Industry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The previous week, between the 9th and 11th, we will be with our partners from VisiPraxis<\/a>, distributor of Altus technology in the Southern region of Africa, participating in the Africa Automation Technology Fair<\/a>. The event, which takes place in the city of Johannesburg, aims to bring the latest launches<\/b>, inventions<\/b> and trends related to automation technology<\/b>. At both fairs, we will present the latest developments in machine and process control from the Nexto Series of programmable controllers.<\/p>\n

A global CPU to integrate your business into the 4.0 universe<\/h2>\n

The latest model in the family is the\u00a0NX3008, the new CPU in the Nexto Series<\/a>, a global product with advanced software features and\u00a0cybersecurity<\/a>\u00a0capable of\u00a0dynamically integrating the IT and TA areas of an industry<\/a>. Created to meet the demands of an increasingly connected industry, the NX3008 CPU has a wide variety of\u00a0communication interfaces<\/span>\u00a0capable of connecting the equipment to the most different systems and machines on the market. The new Nexto Series control device has 03 Ethernet Gigabit<\/a> ports, 02 of which support the PROFINET Controller<\/span> communication protocol, which allows the controller to be used in a network with MRP ring<\/span> architecture. Fully compliant with the IoT universe, the CPU has the capacity for
\ndirect writing to SQL databases<\/a> and direct interaction with the most relevant cloud hosting services on the market, such as Microsoft Azure<\/b>, IBM
\nCloud<\/b>, Google One<\/b> and Amazon AWS<\/b>. The unit also has a differential
\npresent in few PLCs on the market: the unit has an embedded WebServer<\/a>,
\na tool that allows the creation of supervision and monitoring screens of
\napplications without the need to use a SCADA system<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another differentiating resource present in the unit is Embedded VPN<\/a>, which creates a private connection tunnel directly to the CPU. This functionality allows you to access your business's control network remotely and completely securely. To further increase product security, the CPU has a firewall feature<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The new Altus CPU also supports FTP<\/b> type connections, which enables the device to exchange data with a server that uses this technology model. This functionality allows data packages generated by the controller, such as logs collected through a datalogger function, to be accessed remotely.<\/p>\n

Another new feature available is its Docker<\/b>embedded platform*. The resource, native to the CPU, makes it possible to virtualize software developed for operating systems with Unix technology<\/b>. The feature gives more versatility and speed to the system's operation, as it allows the processing of multiple data within the CPU itself.<\/p>\n

This year, the main highlight will be the new features designed for Nexto Series PLCs<\/a>, products used in the main FPSOs operating in Brazil, such as the replicating units of Petrobras<\/a>installed in Pre-salt<\/b> exploration fields. With high processing speed, advanced real-time diagnostics and support network redundancy<\/a>, Nexto programmable controllers deliver security and high availability for critical and highly complex processes, such as those found in Top-side<\/b>, Hull<\/b> and CSS<\/b> systems in the offshore market.<\/p>\n

As we previously reported, we have added features to the Nexto Xpress solution<\/a><\/b>, our latest line of compact PLCs, capable of further increasing the level of connectivity<\/u> of the products, which were already born IoT ready<\/b>. In the last few months, we have made several features available, such as support for the MQTT protocol<\/a><\/b>, the expansion of inputs and outputs via CAN interface<\/a><\/b>, the new model XP340<\/a><\/b> and, recently, support for the IEC 60870-5-104 Server protocol<\/a><\/b>. Now, to increase security when using MQTT<\/u>, the NX3003, NX3004, NX3005 CPUs and Nexto Xpress PLCs that support the protocol now feature TLS 1.2 communication<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Designed to deliver performance and high connectivity to the most varied industry processes, Nexto Xpress family<\/a> has different options of multifunctional programmable controllers prepared to connect your business to the IIoT Universe<\/b>. Now, to further increase its versatility, the line gains a new member developed to meet the demands of packaging machines and material assembly lines. Compact and with high processing speed, a trademark of Nexto USB, RS-485 serial port and CANopen Master. Like the other products in the line, the new Xpress unit has DIN rail mounting, Real Time Clock (RTC), Data Logger function block<\/a>, conformal coating and support for the main communication protocols on the market.<\/p>\n

With software based on the CODESYS<\/b> technological platform, the product has the ability to interact with different brokers in order to communicate with web service platforms, such as Node-Red<\/a>, connection with the main web services cloud hosting and write directly to SQL databases<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Complete solution for precise motion control<\/h4>\n

Created to add safety and flexibility to machines and processes that require precise movement control, the new member of the Xpress family has the capacity to operate on meshes with up to 4 motion control axes ( X, Y, Z and A)<\/u>. Used in conjunction with the new servo drivers<\/a> Altus' fast response and high performance, the PLC XP350 makes up a complete motion contol solution for applications where power, efficiency and movement precision are essential.<\/p>\n

To meet this demand for high precision in machines and processes, the new Altus controller, as well as the servo drivers, supports EtherCAT Master<\/b> and CANopen<\/b>, two of the main communication protocols used in the segment. In addition, it supports PLCopen Motion Control Part 1 function blocks for single-axis command, multi-axis synchronization, electronic gear (CAME), special editor for planning movements (CAM), among others.<\/p>\n
