Compact, with a high-speed processor, various communication interfaces and support for multiple communication protocols, the Nexto Xpress programmable controllers line has the capacity to meet the most diverse demands of the industry. This plurality of resources allows the latest Altus IoT Ready PLC models to be used in simple applications, such as single-function machines, up to complex processes in large production plants. Today, we brought another application to demonstrate how the versatility of the Xpress PLC can deliver more control and productivity.
One example that we can cite as a way to demonstrate this multifunctionality of the Xpress PLC is the project of the call notification system of a grain terminal in the city of Uberaba, in Minas Gerais. Developed by L2 SoftWorks, the application is responsible for controlling access to the yard, automating the vehicle gate and electronically notifying truck drivers of calls waiting for sorting to unload. In the application, the XP300 PLC uses the Modbus protocol and REST API interfaces to communicate with sensors, actuators and other field devices.
In addition to a clear increase in efficiency and speed with the automation of calls, which are currently manual, the new system also adds greater security to the terminal's operation, since each vehicle entering and leaving the yard is individually identified. This improvement also resulted in a 98% reduction in cases of process failure due to unauthorized vehicle circulation.

The board of directors of L2 SoftWorks, formed by partners Leandro Pereira and Leandro Lima, states that Altus technology, a reference in the industrial automation market, was chosen for this project to ensure its robustness and reliability. “All the software was developed from end to end by L2 with extensive support from suppliers, thus ensuring greater ease in support and/or future improvements and expansions”, reports the board of directors. He also highlighted the quality of the products and the availability of the company's Technical Support as differentiators for this project.
