Altus celebrates 43 years of innovation and technology in industrial automation

This October 2025, we celebrate 43 years of history,a trajectory marked by the vanguard in technology for industrial automation, in Brazil and around the world.

Since our founding on October 26, 1982,we have consolidated ourselves as one of the most relevant equipment in the sector, always faithful to the commitment to innovation, quality, and overcoming challenges. Over more than four decades, we have not only followed global technological evolution but also positioned ourselves as a strategic player, developing rugged solutions that directly impact the national economy and infrastructure.

The dimension of our relevance is impressive: our technology automates about 35% of all oil and gas production in Brazil and 20% of the electric energy generated and consumed in the country. And this reach goes beyond Brazilian borders—today, our equipment are present in industries in more than 40 countries.

With our vision always focused on the future, we remain firm in the mission to expand this trajectory of success, supported by the continuous partnership of our clients and the dedication of our employees..

Great milestones and overcoming challenges

Over 43 years, we have faced and overcome high-complexity engineering challenges in extreme scenarios, from the Amazon Rainforest to the deep seas, passing through the demands of modernizing large industrial parks.

One of the most notable projects in recent years was the automation of the Urucu-Manaus gas pipeline, an impressive 662 km line that crosses the Amazon. Another work of great national relevance was the modernization of the Paulo Afonso Hydroelectric Complex,in Bahia, which is crucial for the energy supply in the Northeast.

Altus' technology is also present in the automation of all the tunnels on the Tamoios Highway, one of the most modern and busiest in Brazil. Located in the eastern region of the state of São Paulo, the highway is 82 km long, connecting São José dos Campos, in the Paraíba Valley, to Caraguatatuba, on the north coast of São Paulo. This complex plays a strategic role in the region's transport, tourism, and commerce.

We also celebrate 12 years of partnership with Light Energia in the modernization of hydroelectric plants. The joint work between Altus and Light consolidated itself as a systematic and comprehensive modernization program

The initial success at UHE Fontes Nova boosted a continuous expansion, which began to contemplate the company's main generation assets. This extensive program includes the modernization of UHE Nilo Peçanha, UHE Pereira, UHE Fontes Nova (with new improvements), UHE Santa Branca, UHE Ilha dos Pombos, Unidade Elevatória Vigário, Unidade Elevatória Santa Cecília,in addition to several dams and spillways.

The ruggedness and high performance of the HX (Xtorm) CPUs and RTUs,recalled by the Light professionals involved in these projects, were the technological base of the modernizations. This result highlights the capacity of our specialists to develop standardized and, at the same time, personalized applications, meeting the most diverse needs.

Going further in the energy sector, our solutions are present in thousands of renewable generation equipment, acting in the control and automation of photovoltaic panels.

In the water and wastewater sector, our history of innovation strengthens over time. In 2008, we participated in the revitalization of the ETA Taiaçupeba in Mogi das Cruzes, which received 70 Ponto Series controllers. Now, in 2025, this same station is undergoing a new modernization, this time with 100 NX3008 CPUs of the Nexto System, consolidating the technological evolution and confidence in our solutions.

In the education sector, in 2025 alone, we trained hundreds of teachers across the country, strengthening partnerships that benefit thousands of students. We provide free licenses for PLC software and supervisory equipment for educational institutions, teachers, and students, contributing to the training of a new generation of professionals.

But one of the biggest technical and logistical challenges we have faced in recent years was the automation of Petrobras's exploration platforms in the Pre-salt layer. These units, responsible for a significant portion of national oil and gas production, operate with Altus technology. The complexity of this project was amplified by the fact that some platforms were built and commissioned in shipyards in China, which required our equipment to have the flexibility to overcome cultural and linguistic barriers in an international environment for the project's success.

Today, we continue to expand our presence and face new challenges, with prominent performance in the transport, energy, machinery, water and wastewater, mining, agro-industry, and offshore sectors. This trajectory consolidates not only our growth but also Altus's international expansion., mas também a expansão internacional da Altus.

Global expansion: Brazilian yechnology for the world

Our internationalization journey began in 1988with the first export to Germany , and has gained even more strength in recent years. We consolidated our presence in Europe and South America, expanded operations in West Asia, strengthened our channels in North America and took the first steps to enter Oceania

Currently, our equipment lines can be found in countries such as Sweden, USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, Kazakhstan, China, Turkey, South Africa, Egypt, South Korea, Singapore, India, and many others.

The year 2024 followed the growth trend, confirming the success of our global expansion strategy.

Investing in the future and the 2025 releases

At Altus, we always prioritize continuous investment in Research and Development (R&D) as the engine of our growth. With the goal of achieving the largest volume of investment in P&D in our history, we continue to create new solutions and continuously improve our portfolio..

Among the innovations that gained prominence and consolidated in 2025 are:

  • - We presented the first PLC of the Nexto XF seriesthe 5th generation of our programmable controllers. With the slogan "advanced connectivity, smart performance", the XF series arrives uniting rugged hardware with advanced software features, ready to meet the new demands of the industry.

  • - We presented the NX3035 CPU, one of the most rugged and advanced equipment of our Nexto System. With a 64-bit architecture, it ensures solid support for complex equipment, while the integrated floating-point unit ensures superior performance in data processing in applications that demand high performance and availability.

  • - We presented the new NX1006 and NX2025 I/O modules, which bring intelligence to compact components, offering real-time diagnostics to make your operation even more efficient and reliable.

  • - We launched our new institutional website to bring Altus even closer to the professionals who use our solutions and equipment on a daily basis.
