Composed of qualified professionals with extensive market experience, our OEM team has helped manufacturers from all over the country to enhance the performance of their machines. Present from the beginning to the end of the project, our team is able to identify needs, propose improvements and, in certain cases, even assist in the development of the application. Just like everything we do here at Altus, this dedication aims to provide a unique experience to our customers so that they can deliver highly efficient solutions that add real value to their customers' business.
It is due to this differentiated service that manufacturers such as JetMaq, a company with over 20 years of experience in the machinery market, continue to seek Altus' technology and engineering intelligence to increase the efficiency of their product lines. Recently, the São Paulo-based company, which traditionally uses several items from the Altus product portfolio, began production of another batch of automated JetCut cold cuts slicers with Altus programmable controllers, HMIs, power supplies and frequency inverters. Once completed, the equipment will be used in the supermarkets of the Pão de Açúcar, Extra and Assaí chains.
More precision and connectivity with Nexto Xpress
JetCut machines already presented great precision and low energy consumption when operating with products from the FBs Series, a line of programmable controllers for small and medium-sized automation. Now, to further increase its performance, the new batch of slicers began using the compact PLCs Nexto Xpress, control equipment created to meet the demands of Industry 4.0. With millisecond timers and a wide range of interfaces and communication protocols, the PLC Xpress added connectivity and brought even more precision to the manufacturer's machines.
The PLC used in the application was the XP325, a high-speed model with Ethernet, Serial RS-485, CAN and USB interfaces, 16 digital inputs, 16 digital transistor outputs, 05 analog voltage/current inputs, 02 analog RTD inputs and 04 analog voltage/current outputs. By having timers in milliseconds (ms), the controller ensures greater resolution in the cutting thickness and in the distance between slices. The use of the Xpress unit also resulted in a significant reduction in the scan time, which provided greater repeatability to the process.
Motion monitoring and control with the X2 and Optidrive series
In addition to the Nexto Xpress PLC, the new batch of JetCut machines also includes other equipment from the Altus product basket, such as the X2-BASE-5, a 5″ HMI from the X2 Series, and power supplies from the Energy Series. The solution also uses two pairs of frequency inverters from the E3 line, equipment from the Optidrive Series with high performance and low energy consumption. With a focus on ease of use, E3 frequency inverters offer simplicity of installation, connection and commissioning for small applications, which gives the user precise control over the motor and significant energy savings.
