The latest model in the family is the NX3008, the new CPU in the Nexto Series, a global product with advanced software features and cybersecurity capable of dynamically integrating the IT and TA areas of an industry. Created to meet the demands of an increasingly connected industry, the NX3008 CPU has a wide variety of communication interfaces capable of connecting the equipment to the most different systems and machines on the market. The new Nexto Series control device has 03 Ethernet Gigabit ports, 02 of which support the PROFINET Controller communication protocol, which allows the controller to be used in a network with MRP ring architecture. You can see an example of the application of the resource in this article written by our colleague Leonardo Carvalho Antônio dos Santos.
Fully compliant with the IoT universe, the CPU has the capacity for
direct writing to SQL databases and direct interaction with the most relevant cloud hosting services on the market, such as Microsoft Azure, IBM
Cloud, Google One and Amazon AWS. The unit also has a differential
present in few PLCs on the market: the unit has an embedded WebServer,
a tool that allows the creation of supervision and monitoring screens of
applications without the need to use a SCADA system.
Another differentiating resource present in the unit is Embedded VPN, which creates a private connection tunnel directly to the CPU. This functionality allows you to access your business's control network remotely and completely securely. To further increase product security, the CPU has a firewall feature.
The new Altus CPU also supports FTP type connections, which enables the device to exchange data with a server that uses this technology model. This functionality allows data packages generated by the controller, such as logs collected through a datalogger function, to be accessed remotely.
Another new feature available is its Dockerembedded platform*. The resource, native to the CPU, makes it possible to virtualize software developed for operating systems with Unix technology. The feature gives more versatility and speed to the system's operation, as it allows the processing of multiple data within the CPU itself.

This year, the main highlight will be the new features designed for Nexto Series PLCs, products used in the main FPSOs operating in Brazil, such as the replicating units of Petrobrasinstalled in Pre-salt exploration fields. With high processing speed, advanced real-time diagnostics and support network redundancy, Nexto programmable controllers deliver security and high availability for critical and highly complex processes, such as those found in Top-side, Hull and CSS systems in the offshore market.

Xpress, a compact all-in-one PLC
As we previously reported, we have added features to the Nexto Xpress solution, our latest line of compact PLCs, capable of further increasing the level of connectivity of the products, which were already born IoT ready. In the last few months, we have made several features available, such as support for the MQTT protocol, the expansion of inputs and outputs via CAN interface, the new model XP340 and, recently, support for the IEC 60870-5-104 Server protocol. Now, to increase security when using MQTT, the NX3003, NX3004, NX3005 CPUs and Nexto Xpress PLCs that support the protocol now feature TLS 1.2 communication.
Speaking of communication, the product has Ethernet interfaces,
Serial RS 485, CAN and USB onboard, enabling support for a variety of
list of communication protocols, such as MODBUS TCP and RTU, PROFINET, CANopen and
J-1939, IEC 60870-5-104, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, OPC DA, OPC UA and MQTT. The resources
they also allow the controller to communicate directly with the main services
cloud hosting on the market. The XP340 model, like the NX3008 CPU, still supports
WebServer.
Xpress products, like other equipment in the Nexto Series, use the programming software MasterTool IEC weight: 700;">CODESYS with scalability for micro to large projects (free up to 320 I/O points). Altus, Beijer and the North American market
This year, in addition to interacting with Altus experts and learning about the latest news about their products, visitors who stop by the company's stand will also be able to talk to business engineers from Beijer Electronics. Main partner in the foreign market, the company applies and distributes Altus programmable controller technology in different countries in Europe, Asia and North America. In order to value and strengthen this relationship that has lasted almost 15 years, experts from the company's North American unit were invited to share Altus' space at the fair.
Participation in Distributech is part of Altus' international expansion plan, which began in 2016. For a few years now, Nexto family are UL and cUL certified, being declared in compliance with Underwriters Laboratories safety standards. Certificates are a mandatory requirement for exporting products to the United States and Canada, which allows the company to explore the northern hemisphere and reinforces Nexto's concept as a world-class product.
So, if you are in the San Diego area between the 7th and 9th
February, set aside a moment in your calendar to visit the Altus space in
Distributech 2023. The event will take place at the San Diego Convention Center, in San
Diego, California. The Altus space will be at booth 5 of the Brazil Pavilion.
