Altus products receive UKCA marking

Altus products receive UKCA marking

With Brexitand the consequent departure of the United Kingdom from the European Union, a series of regulatory changes needed to be implemented to guarantee the quality of products sold in the region. One of the actions was the creation of the UKCA marking (UK Conformity Assessed ), mandatory item for the export of electronic equipment and other products to countries that are part of the economic bloc. To adapt to the new guidelines, both compact PLCs Nexto and the hadron Xtorm Series remote terminal units comply with UKCA marking safety standards.

Just like the CE standard , used in the European Union, the UKCA marking guarantees that products sold in the territories of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland meet specific safety, health requirements >and environment. For Altus PLCs and UTRs to receive the marking, the products needed to pass the electromagnetic compatibility and electrical safety tests determined by the standard. Guarantees that the inputs used in its production comply with ROHS e directives REACH also needed to be presented.

Obtaining the UKCA marking ratifies Altus' commitment to the British market, reinforcing the brand's presence in Europe, whilst confirming its commitment to providing quality products and complete solutions.

UL/cUL and DNV certifications on Nexto PLCs

In addition to the CE and UKCA markings, Nexto Series products and Nexto Xpress IoT-ready PLCs also boast other important international certificates.

Requirement for exporting products to the United States and Canada, UL/cUL certification demonstrates the compliance of Nexto PLCs with Underwriters Laboratories. Altus equipment is certified in the NRAQ category, governed by the safety standards UL61010-1, UL61010-1-12 and UL61010-2-201. While the UL61010-1 and UL61010-1-12 standards deal with general safety requirements for measuring, control and laboratory use equipment, the UL61010-2-201 standard deals with the specific safety requirements for control equipment.

The certification DNV, issued by Det Norske Veritas, is a requirement for companies in Asia, Europe and North America to use programmable controllers in marine applications. Nexto Series equipment is certified in the Type Approval category, the process of which involves testing the development and production system for electronic products. This certificate ensures the high technological level of Altus products, the quality of its production chain, the robustness of the hardware and its high availability in offshore structure applications.
